Sommernachklang [I want to linger]

Where did summer go? Are you ready to let go yet? I am not. In the mornings the air is getting clear and cold already and I have noticed the first signs of fog in the morning, too. Yuck. High time to celebrate a golden autumn late summer!

So I quickly changed the summerpillowcovers in skyblue and polkadot-cherryred to marigold, greens, purples and burgundy and took out the falling leaves quilt .

Ja. So geht es gleich besser!
Yes. Makes me feel better instantly!

new little hexie pillow WIP (yes,  we do need another pillowcover!)

Especially with a magazine, rooibos tea and a little hand sewing / english paper piecing.

Because the golden yellow hexies really look like honeycombs...

...I stiched a bee on one of the hexagons (I had just drawn a bee freehand with water soluble marker on the hexagon before)

The bee doesn´t like to be fotographed in artificial light but besides that I think she is quite cute.

Ok, I think like this I can handle the thought of fall late summer. ;-)

Mmm, and come September
Mmm, I will remember
Mmm, our camping days and friendships true

  1. So pretty... yellow and grey is my new favorite combo! I think I'm OK with fall moving in as long as it comes slowly.

    1. At first I had planned to stich a second one (and already drew one on another hexie) but I´m not sure now.

  5. Beautiful cushions and quilt; they definitely put me in the mood for fall! Your hexies are beautiful; do you have a plan or are you making a bunch and seeing where it leads you? The bee is amazing :)

    1. My plan for this hexie project is like that: three rows of yellow hexies, lined with two or three rows of linen colored/greyish/neutral hexies on both sides, a random bee here or there. Then I want to sew it into a pillow cover and maybe add binding.
